Staff Appreciation Baskets after the Holidays

We've rescheduled the annual staff appreciation baskets for this week. Each year MLC families donate items that go into baskets for teachers and staff to show them how much we appreciate all they do for us. If you would like to, please bring small gifts for the staff to the school library. You can donate things, such as:
  • Food treats: candy, chocolate, fruit, jam
  • Individually wrapped home-baked items
  • Coffee/tea
  • Handmade crafts/jewelry
  • Cards/candles
  • Small gifts or small $ value gift cards
Drop off items in MLC's Library anytime between today and Friday morning (Jan. 9) Baskets will be delivered late Friday morning.

To ensure everyone is equally recognized, "To anyone" items are best.

Contact Kristin Cole with questions or if you'd like to help put baskets together on Friday: bkcole@hevanet.com

Another Election Race

After our nation's nail-biting elections, we held elections for the high school's presidential race as part of the trimester's Storyline. Congrats to the Justice League and their candidate, James A. C. King for winning.

Meanwhile the 4x6 students have continued in their campaign work and are looking forward to their elections, being held on December 4th. The students have been working very hard to create viable candidates, learning about various aspects of campaign work. Susan's class has even set up a web site to distribute information about their candidate.

You're welcome to join us for the Campaign Finale on December 4th at 10:30 a.m. in the auditorium to learn about all the candidates and issue before casting your ballot.

Have you lost anything?

Our Lost & Found in the cafeteria is overflowing with sweatshirts, jackets and miscellaneous clothing items that students have left behind. Please take a few moments to look through the clothing to see if something there belongs to anyone in your family. Any items that do not find their owners by December 19 will be donated to the PTSA Clothes Closet.

Exceptional!

Congratulations to MLC! The State Report Card was released today and we were again rated as "Exceptional." We are one of eighteen school that have rated as "strong" or "exceptional" for the past ten years. A great accomplishment for students, teachers and administration alike.
