Math games for skill building and problem solving!

These applications are available from Rekenweb (designed and supported by Freudenthal Institute in Utrecht, Netherlands). Rekenweb has a number of math games designated for children at different ages. They are in Dutch as well as English (this is the English link).

Another great Jacob Lawrence site!

Take a look at what some school children in Washington D.C. were doing to coincide with a special exhibition of Jacob Lawrence artwork at:

Finding Your Character Print Online

It might be helpful for your child to look at their character painting as they work to gather together pieces of their costume. Most of the prints can be found easily through a Google Image search, but others are a bit harder to track down.

Lawrence Paintings: This image archive has images of all of Lawrence's paintings and drawings.

Picasso Paintings: This site is the best we have found for tracking down harder to find Picasso works.

Let us know if your child is having trouble finding their print. Have fun creating your costumes!

By popular demand, Reese would like to share the short Lego film he created and shared at yesterday's talent show. You can ask him for more information about his storyboarding and filming process. Jennifer and I are so proud of all of our talented third graders!

It is available at YouTube at the address below:

Note for third graders: Make sure you use YouTube safely and follow any computer agreements you may have with your grown-ups.
