Character Traits
We strive to incorporate five key character traits into all we say and do.
    Courage, Compassion, Self-discipline, Integrity and Respect

Commitments
MLC Students have the responsibility to:
  • Respect themselves, others and all property.
  • Attend school regularly, and on time.
  • Participate fully, asking question when needed.
  • Set and accomplish personal learning goals.
  • Work to their highest potential.
  • Maintain positive and supportive interpersonal relationships.
  • Contribute to and present a portfolio of their learning.
  • Provide a service to the school or community.
  • Enjoy the experience of learning.
MLC Staff has the responsibility to:
  • Respect themselves, others and all property.
  • Attend school regularly and on time.
  • Develop with students short and long term learning goals.
  • Provide as many learning options as possible.
  • Counsel students who are not carrying out their responsibilities.
  • Confer with families when requested or when necessary.
  • Work to improve the learning program and to provide cross-grade activities.
  • Provide necessary supervision and comply with all safety precautions.
  • Actively pursue professional growth.
  • Enjoy the experience of learning.
MLC Families have the responsibility to:
  • Respect themselves, their children and other children's rights.
  • Assure regular on-time attendance.
  • Be informed about their children's role and progress at school.
  • Model enthusiasm for learning.
  • Support their children in carrying out their school responsibilities.
  • Help their children develop and achieve their learning goals.
  • Communicate with staff at conferences and whenever necessary.
  • Participate in activities and provide service whenever possible.
  • Enjoy the experience of learning.
